Nonprofit AI Workshop: Citizens Champions in Action (Cohort 1)
The Woonsocket Education Center was honored to receive the Citizens Champions in Action Award and a grant to deliver AI Readiness for Nonprofits: Building Organizational Capacity in partnership with Rhode Island College and the state’s AI RI Hub.
Because of Citizens' generous investment, we are pleased to invite one representative from your organization to participate in this no-cost professional development opportunity.
This initiative was designed to help nonprofit organizations adopt emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, responsibly and effectively. Participants will explore practical applications of AI for:
- Grant writing and fundraising
- Communications and community outreach
- Administrative efficiency
- Data analysis and organizational effectiveness
- Responsible and ethical use of AI
More importantly, the program was intentionally designed so that one representative from each organization becomes an internal AI champion, returning to their organization with practical tools, resources, and knowledge that can be shared with colleagues—expanding the impact well beyond the classroom.
We will be offering two identical training cohorts, and you may choose the date that works best for your organization:
- Cohort 1: Thursday, October 8, 2026
- Cohort 2: Thursday, November 5, 2026
(Additional program details and session information will be provided upon registration.)
Because participation is limited, we are initially reserving one seat per organization to ensure as many nonprofits as possible can benefit from this opportunity. If space remains after initial registrations, I will gladly extend invitations for a second staff member from participating organizations.
If you would like to participate, please email Jill Olsen Crowley, Jill.OlsonCrowley@riopc.edu, as soon as possible with:
- The name and title of your participant
- Organization name
- Their email address
- Your preferred cohort date (October 8 or November 5)
We expect these cohorts to fill quickly, so early responses are encouraged.
We're incredibly grateful to Citizens for making this opportunity possible and look forward to helping nonprofit organizations across Rhode Island build their capacity, strengthen operations, and leverage AI to better serve our communities.
